When you provide us with personal information, such as when signing up for an event or joining our mailing list, we will only use that information for the specific purpose for which it was provided. We may use your contact details to communicate with you about the event you signed up for or to provide you with information about future events that may be of interest to you. We will not share your personal information with any third parties without your explicit consent.

Content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Collecting and using information from you

We acknowledge that the GDPR provides several approved legal bases for processing personal data. In relation to our company's activities, the most relevant legal bases are as follows:

1. Contractual Necessity: We may process booking data for classes or events in order to communicate essential information related to that booking. This is necessary for the performance of our contract with the individual.

2. Consent: We obtain unambiguous, freely given consent from individuals when they accept our cookie notice online or join our mailing list online, on physical forms, or by request on email. Individuals have the right to withdraw their consent at any time, and our marketing emails include clear "unsubscribe" links.

3. Legitimate Interests: We rely on our company's legitimate interests as the lawful basis for processing personal data for marketing emails to our customers. This processing is necessary to achieve our commercial interest as it is the only means of contacting our customers. It is reasonable to assume that individual customers with whom we have a relationship would expect us to contact them by email. As these emails are sent infrequently, the impact on individuals is minimal and they are unlikely to object when balanced against their own interests, rights, and freedoms. All marketing emails include unsubscribe links.

We understand the importance of complying with the GDPR and ensuring that we have a valid legal basis for processing personal data. If you have any further questions or concerns regarding our data processing activities, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Rights of the customer concerning your data

We understand and respect these rights, and we are committed to ensuring that individuals can exercise them easily. If an individual wants to exercise any of these rights, they can contact us and we will respond in a timely manner. We will provide individuals with access to their personal data, correct or delete their personal data upon request (subject to any legal obligations to retain the data), address any objections they may have to the use and processing of their personal data, and limit the use and processing of their personal data as requested. We will also provide individuals with their personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format if they request it.

We are also aware that individuals have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if they believe their rights under the GDPR have been violated. We will cooperate with any supervisory authority and provide them with the necessary information if a complaint is made.

We take the privacy and data protection of our customers seriously, and we are committed to complying with the GDPR and ensuring that individuals can exercise their rights. If you have any further questions or concerns regarding our data processing activities or the rights of individuals, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Course T&C

Course Terms & Conditions

By reserving a place for a course or workshop, you agree to the following terms and conditions

When participating in Jive & Boogie lessons or events, it is solely for personal enjoyment and not for advertising or collecting data. Attendees are not allowed to offer or promote events, or systematically gather information such as phone numbers, email addresses, or postal addresses of customers or staff without the permission of Jive & Boogie.
Jive & Boogie reserves the right to deny attendance to anyone who violates these conditions.

Payment
Payment for all courses, workshops, and classes is required in advance. Once payment is made, no refunds are available. However, if we cancel a course, we will offer the option of a refund or an alternative course.

Class sizes

Courses and workshops are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and are limited according to the venue's capacity.

Partners & Lead / Follow Roles

Jive n Boogie are very happy to enrol single students on our courses. Single students will be allocated an experienced dance 'Buddy' to partner them for the course. Couples who enrol as a 'Couple' will be expected to dance together.

Age

All attendees should be aged 18 or over.

Health & Safety

All students must inform their instructor of any health concerns. All activities are done at the attendee's own risk.

Course deferral

In certain cases, such as when a course participant suffers a serious injury or illness within the first few weeks of the term contacts our office immediately, we may consider a course deferral. If a course deferral is agreed upon, the booking will be put on hold and will not be associated any specific course, venue, or campaign. Plans for each campaign, including venue, dates, times, and course levels, will be published, and a deferred booking will remain on hold until it is allocated to a specific course after details for that course have been released. Our priority when planning courses is to provide continuation courses for existing groups, and we introduce new beginners where slots in the campaign allow, within the context of being financially viable

Catch-Up At Alternative Locations

To attend a catch-up class at a different location, please fill out the contact form on our website and your current course and venue, as well as the alternative venue and date you wish to attend. Please note that catch classes are only available for the same course and format within the same term of your booking. Additionally, catch-up classes are non-transferable and can only be taken by paid participants in the same campaign.
